As dark as it is to say, most of the early war was experimental. I believe it was either Indy or one of his guests who called those days ‘a new war fought by old generals’ and millions of soldiers died using old tactics in the age of mechanized warfare. By 1916, that had mostly changed. However, a lot of stupid decision where made before then. (Editor’s Note: After some consideration, I changed the original episode to this recommendation because it was a bit more important to understanding both the series and the war itself)
