Spice and Wolf VR Coming in 2019

Spicy Tails is a studio that has a knack for hitting home runs.  Headed by Isuna Hasekura of Spice and Wolf fame, the studio has developed one of the best all-time gaming trilogies in World End Economica and have been one of the first studios to experiment with merging the choice structure of visual novels with virtual reality gaming. Their first experiment with virtual reality gaming, Project Lux, has been met with general approval, so now they look to expand in that area with the studio’s namesake: Spice and Wolf.

Our details of the project are slim at this point. All we know for sure is that the series original VAs Ami Koshimizu (Holo) and Jun Fukuyama (Kraft) will reprise their roles for the game and that Hasekura will be handling the script. It is tentatively scheduled for release in 2019, so it may be fair to expect a crowdfunding campaign for it in the near future. We’ll definitely have more as it develops, but if you’ve never played a SpicyTails game, I urge you to read my reviews of the World End Economica Trilogy (1, 2 and 3) and then support the studio by getting those games.
