Ten Years of VNs Now Special Feature: Fifty EVNs JP Recommends (29-11)
25. Rising Angels: Reborn (IDHAS Studios)
Rising Angels: Reborn had a lot to accomplish at time of release. The game had to serve as a reboot to IDHAS’ main fictional universe and as the central node for all past and future title. Essentially, if it didn’t work they’d have to go straight back to the drawing board. Luckily it did work out and Reborn is still solid. The military-based drama is very good while setting up the various relationships and alliances that feed into the larger world. Natalie is still a great protagonist and her story arc is compelling as a small piece in a much larger puzzle. That bit of intrigue is often missed by its contemporaries and I’m glad to see Reborn nail it.
