1. Cupid (Fervent Studios)

Cupid should be played by everyone and 100% completed. This title explores some of the darkest themes in fiction and never compromises on how vicious humanity or life in general can be. And yet, despite how deep it dives, Cupid is, at its heart, a coming-of-age tale about a girl coming to terms with her past trauma and finding a way to live her life on her own terms. This plot is centered on the fact that the audience doesn’t directly play Rosa: the protagonist. Rather, we play the delusion of her Mother: either pushing her towards building herself up or destroying herself. The cast surrounding Rosa are equally fantastic and tragic: all suffering their own demons with most unable to stop the downward spiral of pain and madness they are on. It leads to some deeply poetic moments, along with some terrifying ones that will keep you up at night with their execution. A brilliant piece of fiction and a brilliant game that I will be gladly talk about for years to come.

Well, that’s Fifty EVNs altogether. I imagine if I’m still doing VNs Now ten years from now this list will change.
