Historical Fiction will always be a favorite of mine because if you know your history, there are thousands of interesting stories and alternate histories you can spin from our world. In a haunting beautiful portrayal of 20th Century Austria, The Lion’s Song is an anthology exploring both the pressures and glories of ‘talented’ people. ‘Talented’ is in scare quotes strictly because anyone who has ever been described as such knows the pain of carrying it. The story does an excellent job of putting the audience into each of the character’s shoes and making the peaks and valleys of their stories resonate. It is also a rarity in gaming being one of the few episodic games to nail its release structure.
