Ten Years of VNs Now Special Feature: Fifty EVNs JP Recommends (50-30)
47. Across the Groves (Nova-Box)
While I don’t think this is the best introduction to Nova-Box’s style, this is definitely where the group hit its stride. Across the Groves successfully serves as a nostalgic romp through the musical eras that defined Europe through the late 20th century and as a spy thriller with dark fantasy as a base. I was just as intrigued by its time-altering storyline and the antagonism of its hermetic secret society as I was about the bits of musical knowledge sprinkled throughout. Even more so was I pulled in by its main character whose entire history and personality shifted more and more the deeper you dug into the narrative.
